I would ask for hardy corals and no high-end acros until you hit a year. I really wish I took that advice when I had it, my tank just hit a year and I lost some good SBB acros early, happy to say they are all doing well now. BUT, SBB's shrooms are gorgeous, as are the gonis

Don't forget the frogspawn and maybe hammers if his tank is stable enough

AND you will want to be able to TEST and STABILIZE the big parameters:
Salinity
Temp
Alk
Cal
Mag
Nitrate
Phosphate

(pH should be at least above 8 if you can wrangle it, preferrably 8.3 for good growth)

Appreciate the advice!! I’m trying to absorb as much as I can from everyone in these chats
