DAILY QUESTION: What’s your opinion on the role of lighting in creating a balanced aquarium ecosystem?
Light is the most important input, it is the building block of a healthy reef system. It doesn't matter if it's LPS, SPS or softies, macro algae or micro algae's, without lighting the vast majority would not survive. Proper light selection takes these organisms from survival to flourishing. Our systems depend on this base input for the entire ecosystem we are responsible for creating and maintaining.

DAILY QUESTION: What’s your opinion on the role of lighting in creating a balanced aquarium ecosystem?
DAILY QUESTION ANSWER: Lighting is crucial in a balanced aquarium, especially in reef setups, as it supports photosynthesis for corals, regulates day-night cycles for all inhabitants, and influences algae growth. Proper lighting ensures corals thrive, fish exhibit natural behaviors, and algae is kept in check. Additionally, simulating moonlight can enhance nocturnal activities and spawning. Beyond these functions, good lighting also enhances the tank's visual appeal, showcasing the vibrant colors of its inhabitants.

DAILY QUESTION: What’s your opinion on the role of lighting in creating a balanced aquarium ecosystem?
Lighting is very important in creating a balanced ecosystem as we are trying to mimic the natural ecosystem of coral and fish. The correct lighting should support photosynthesis for coral and keep algae at bay while providing a more natural light cycle for your fish. ♡

DAILY QUESTION: What’s your opinion on the role of lighting in creating a balanced aquarium ecosystem?
It makes the green stuff grow that feeds the other stuff that we eat, and so the cycle continues.

But really, its the artificial sun. Need it for life, and day/night cycles, etc.

DAILY QUESTION: What’s your opinion on the role of lighting in creating a balanced aquarium ecosystem?
Having a good light that allows for a lighting schedule is important for all of our living inhabitants. It allows them to get a day cycle and a night cycle for sleep and to live how they would in the wild. Some come out at night and most during the day. Provides the chance for everything to live in its natural way.

DAILY QUESTION: What’s your opinion on the role of lighting in creating a balanced aquarium ecosystem?
Changes we make in an aquarium usually is influenced by how we want the aquarium to look like and not focus on the lighting main purpose to supplement. The advancement in technology is giving us a better understanding the demands that are needed for this hobby to thrive.

DAILY QUESTION: What’s your opinion on the role of lighting in creating a balanced aquarium ecosystem?
Reef lighting needs to harness the spectrum that corals use; and not nuisance algae

As opposed to full spectrum and blurple spectrum lights use for my algae reactors

My big system will have a cryptic reactor/tank that will use no lighting
