DAILY QUESTION: What’s your opinion on the role of lighting in creating a balanced aquarium ecosystem?
I think lightning is one of the most important aspects of a system. It allows corals to grow, and gives the fish a time to know when to rest and when to be up.i have seen some fish are more nocturnal than others and I believe giving them the opportunity to have a set cycle
Of light and dark is very beneficial for natural behaviors. I’m super excited to see if the clowns act differently with an actual moon cycle. They sleep in a barnacle at night and are out in the day. It’s adorable.

DAILY QUESTION: What’s your opinion on the role of lighting in creating a balanced aquarium ecosystem?
Well it is pretty important, corals need it for photosynthesis! Getting the correct spectrums is also important for that corals health. You can look at ocean spectrum charts and see what actually penetrates through the water at set depths. When you compare it to light fixtures such as Orphek natura it's pretty close. Also the lunar cycles are a nice touch to try and simulate a natural reef. so who knows corals and fish might even spawn. The clouds function is also a cool feature and works well to simulate natural climate as well. My only request for the clouds function is if they were a bit more random, although it probably doesn't matter that much. I use this function and think it's great and the dimming gives the illusion of clouds flying over and blocking out some of the light. But also don't rule out flow and filtration for water quality. As it all goes hand in hand. But in my experience so far I've found choosing a good light fixture has a more dramatic impact then choosing a wave maker or your filtration device

But none the less I am very impressed with my natura icons and have seen some awesome colouration and growth

You need to understand the balance between the light strength and your current nutrient levels in your aquarium. Example if your nutrient levels are low and your lights are set high, your corals will bleach.

OFFICIAL ENTRY:
I have been following Orphek for many years and I have always wanted to light up my reef with their lights. It is a very serious company that uses its time in research and innovation to create lights that can breed corals in the best way. The Orphek icons were already fantastic, but I am sure that these new Orphek Natura icons will be the best. I am very fascinated by the new type of combination of LEDs used and by the possibility of recreating the natural solar spectrum without giving up a very blue spectrum that is optimal for coral fluorescence. I would like to win the Orphek Natura icons because I am sure that thanks to the great work that this company has done to create these new led lights, my corals will grow strong and have wonderful colors.

DAILY QUESTION: What’s your opinion on the role of lighting in creating a balanced aquarium ecosystem?
Light is the primary source of energy for our reefs. Besides feeding the coral, light feeds phyto and algae, which are food for microlife, therefore, being very important for the equilibrium of the reef tank

DAILY QUESTION: How do you balance light intensity and duration to achieve optimal results in your reef tank?
I'm more of a run and gun type. I have a number of things "off" so I don't worry too much about moderating light, nutrients are high, so lights are high.
