I shoot for a couple of things when adjusting my lights - I get the blues as high as I can get them without irritating the corals (or my wife), and then I blend in white until it's pleasing to my eyes.DAILY QUESTION: How do you balance light intensity and duration to achieve optimal results in your reef tank?

DAILY QUESTION: How do you balance light intensity and duration to achieve optimal results in your reef tank?
Honestly, I haven't spent that much investigation on time on. I really just use preset schedules.DAILY QUESTION: How do you balance light intensity and duration to achieve optimal results in your reef tank?
I turn blues and violets up as high as possible then bleed in whites, reds, and greens until it suits my eye without irritating anything and then a transition into mainly blue for the final 5 hours. As for duration I know I'm stretching the limits at 12 hours but haven't seen any stress/bleaching yet.DAILY QUESTION: How do you balance light intensity and duration to achieve optimal results in your reef tank?
I would absolutely love to win this light. I am currently running a second hand Kessil that may be past it's prime. I think my corals would greatly benefit from having a new beautiful light with so many options. Thank you and good luck to everyone!

I should edit in a bunch of gifs. I wanted to make sure I got the first post on the page though.
I run a 12 hour light cycle. But I don’t run it the optimal way most do where whites are only on for 8 hours. My light runs all of its spectrums from the second they turn on. With that being said since some hit a more high intensity than others. Some don’t turn on the first minute it takes a couple of extra minutes for those to start kicking in. I do run a 2 hour ramp up and a 2 hour ramp down. All of the corals seem to enjoy this and grow.DAILY QUESTION: How do you balance light intensity and duration to achieve optimal results in your reef tank?
I roll 14 hours with no ramps at about 200-400ish par top to bottomDAILY QUESTION: How do you balance light intensity and duration to achieve optimal results in your reef tank?

I try to keep corals in their recommended par range. A little lower maybe. If the corals look good and are growing I am happy. Its not a race so slower growth I am good with as long as they look good.DAILY QUESTION: How do you balance light intensity and duration to achieve optimal results in your reef tank?
Look for the results. The tank will tell you what the right intensity and duration areDAILY QUESTION: How do you balance light intensity and duration to achieve optimal results in your reef tank?
