I would love to start a new build with a bigger tank and would love to document that build. I have loved the look of the Orpheks.

DAILY QUESTION: What tips do you have for new aquarists about choosing the right reef lighting?
The only tips I can offer is, Absolutly do not get into this hobby unless you have watched videos on youtube and Read up on issues relating to reef lighting and how those issues have been addressed by fellow reefers... Your Wallet will see better days...Your Bank Account will see happier times... and your significant other WILL put you in the dog house...just a matter of when... and last but not least... Late night Whataburger runs because you lost track of time when playing tank **** with algea...

DAILY QUESTION: What tips do you have for new aquarists about choosing the right reef lighting?

Do your research, and listen to the old timers in reef keeping.

Tank...live rock...lighting and filtration are all that matters. All the other things are not necessary to have a thriving reef tank

DAILY QUESTION: What tips do you have for new aquarists about choosing the right reef lighting?
Think about what you want to keep in your tank, and buy lighting that supports that. You don't need a fancy lighting system if you have a FOWLR, but if you start FOWLR and want to have coral in the future, buy a light that will support the type of corals you want to keep. A built in timer and the option to create a program to ramp the lights up and down and customize your lighting profile are worth the added cost.

DAILY QUESTION: What tips do you have for new aquarists about choosing the right reef lighting?
Daily question entry: most lights can grow coral so dont get caught up on the radions of the world. Instead, focus on the features and simplicity that suits you best. Also, if you have the money get a quality light that wont set your house on fire lol

DAILY QUESTION: What are your expectations for coral color enhancement with the Natura iCon’s advanced spectrum?
Based on specs from Orphek , this light should provide what corals need. In my tank based on what I have now, there should be more vivid coloring and faster growth.

DAILY QUESTION: What tips do you have for new aquarists about choosing the right reef lighting?
Coordinate the lighting with were you plan to go with the tank and make sure you have proper tank coverage with the lighting. This way you can provide the corals with their lighting demands for better health, growth, and color.

DAILY QUESTION: What tips do you have for new aquarists about choosing the right reef lighting?
Understand what your needs and wants are. Dont be afraid to ask question. Dont rely on a single source for information. Try and find a shop or someone with the same light and see what their reviews are. Dont think that 1k+ per light fixture is the norm. Dont dismiss "Cheap Chinese lights" if you are on a budget

DAILY QUESTION: How has reef lighting technology evolved since you first started reefing?
When I started it was halides and T5s. None were dimmable. Color blending or adjusting meant replacing bulbs. Heat was a major issue. Now, LEDs do the job. They’re plug and play and very adaptable, dimmable and programmable.
