DAILY QUESTION: What experiences have you had with moonlight cycles and their effects on nocturnal reef activity?
The lights I’ve used with moonlights didn’t really seem to show any difference in coral or fish behavior, but they did allow me to watch them a little longer. I’m curious to see what something more natural than a dimmed down blue will do.

I want going to play this one. Eh, maybe.
I would need two and they are so much $$$.
My LFS had a couple on a tank and look pretty sweet.
So looking at the lights, you have to hang them high to get coverage to the 30"x24" they claim or need 3 for a 60" tank.
I'm out, thanks anyway. Good luck everyone!

DAILY QUESTION: What experiences have you had with moonlight cycles and their effects on nocturnal reef activity?
My current lights have a moon light feature that follows the real moon phases based on date. The lights are brighter on a full moon and basically nonexistent on a new moon. I have seen amphipods, copepods, bristleworms, and snails come out during the moon phases. I am sure that is normal once the lights go out anyway, but I can see them and they dont seem to be bothered by my presence. Have not seen the corals react in any way that I think it is affecting them in any way good or bad.

I used moonlights on my old MH system for a little bit. It just seemed to make the fish more skittish so i stopped.

DAILY QUESTION: How do you manage light schedules to prevent algae growth while supporting coral health?

Lights schedule is back and front Orphek bar on 8 AM...T5 unit on 9 AM....T5 off 8 PM and Orphek bars off 10 PM. Turbo snails eat all algae in the tank

None. Never really had lights with that setting. Love to experience it though

I have zero experience with it but curious if it's light holding s red light up to the tank and you can see but it doesn't disturb anything.
