Generally replace the old ones. Take all the old ones down, setup your mounting and mount the new lights, turn them on and have a lit day from your upgrade

Well orphek have been around for a long time now, they primarily focus on lights and put a lot of research into the products they develop. Spectrum is big, but also I've not seen a tank lit by orpheks look bad, that was a big selling point for me!

It mimics the natural moon and sun cycles. In turn this helps your corals feel they are in a natural environment and hopefully this then helps them grow faster and or spawn

This is a tough one, the app is pretty easy to use, like using the lunar cycle and the clouds cycle. I also love the colour the lights produce and I love the shimmer!

Black box LEDs, just not getting the desired, growth, colour out of your corals and also not getting a nice shimmer or as appealing looking tank

It’s changed a lot! New lighting generates far less heat than my old MH’s and now we have ramp-ups and built in timers. I do miss the color of a 14k Phoenix bulb though. But with the right light you can get kind of close.

I don't. I just add them where I want and see how they react. No issues yet doing this.
Only had issues with my lights being set too low % wise.

I place new corals on the sandbed and gradually move them to their intended location. If adding new lights to an existing coral system, I start with the lights very low and gradually ramp up the intensity as days pass.
