I woke up this morning and found that my blue hippo tang has a spot on his side. I can't tell if it's a parasite, infection, or battle scar (the only fish that might be able to do that are my clowns and a foxface but the foxface usually just shows spikes not biting) I don't see any aggression in the tank this morning. Everyone seems to be cohabitating peacefully.
Stock list:
Hippo Tang (4ish inches)
Magnificient foxface many 4.5 inches
2 clowns 1.5inches and 1 inches
mandarin
tuxedo urchin
cleaner shrimp
snails, crabs
Coral: trumpet, monti, goni, mushroom, acro (newly added), lepto
Parameters:
temp: 79
ph: 8.02
Alk: 9.39
calc: 445
mag: 1341
nitrate: 13.8
phosphate: 0.09
The only thing added to the tank in the last couple months are a few sps coral frags. That was about a week ago. Last water change was on Friday (6/21). How worried about this should I be. As I'm sitting here it looks like the spot might be a little more faded into the natural skin tone of the fish.
I just want my fish to be fat, happy and healthy!
