I am building a stand using the general directions from Rocketengineer. I have done this build before and its quite easy. Well in this build, I am creating a 46" long cabinet for a 42" long tank. I was planning on building the support legs as an "L" (blue and green in diagram) with the "L" directly under the corners of the tank (with the cross beams also under the tank so the 2X4s directly underneath the tank.
However, to get a larger sump in I would like to turn the legs in the front facing out. About 1/2 of the front leg in the "L" would still be under the corner of the tank but now its more like a "T".
I will use plywood on the top of the stand and so will it matter in any way if I go with design #2? Is the weight still supported in the same way?
