I would stop the MB7 and start dosing 2 ppm NeoNitro daily. Check nitrate concentration every day before dosing. It may only come up a little bit at a time, but if it is zero the day after dosing 2 ppm, raise it to a 3 ppm dose. Do the same thing the next day and continue increasing the dose by 1 ppm until you start seeing nitrate come up. Once you see it rising, you can stick with that dose and continue dosing it every day until you get to ~10 ppm nitrate in your tank. Then continue to monitor and keep it at 10 ppm. Hopefully without the MB7, and as the algae goes away you can eventually stop dosing, but I’ve found I still have to dose a small amount daily. I may add more livestock eventually so I can stop dosing completely.
Ah perfect, that's kind of what I was thinking I needed to do, thanks so much for the suggestion. I'm hoping with a few changes I can start to get things back on track

Do you think Cuprisorb would remove most the harmful toxins that could be hurting things from the tap water?
No. Not even close and you would be wasting your money.

Why does paracleanse do nothing despite the same ingredients?
Very diluted version and like many of seachem products, does not perform despite claims
Prime is a good example

Does seachem own fritz? Are you thinking of paraguard?
I did mean fritz and seachem is sole company. Paracleanse a metro/prazi blend and metro recommended at .5gm weight and contains I believe 250gm and they recommend water changes every few days

You really got on here admitting to killing livestock when you aren’t even doing your own due diligence? When you’ve admitted to doing the research and think that Canada has “clean water” so unless you got that tested you would have no way to know. But what you do know is that the successful reefers who responsibility care for their pets use RO water to give them a healthy starting point which you failed to do. And the way you describe the immediate shuttering and withering of every living creature leads me to believe you could have a possible toxin issue that needs to be ruled out.

My advice stop wasting your money on livestock and corals as you should feel guilty for that. Take that money and please buy them clean water. You might also slap yourself one time each for each fish killed.

That’ll learn ya

Yeah like others said I’d look into getting a rodi and attaching it to your kitchen/whatever tap you have and just use it when you need it. Not sure if you have outside space or even if this is a viable option in Canada put I have my rodi hooked up to my garden tap so only takes up outside room.

Yeah that's what I'm looking into, I'll probably be setting one up in the next week or two, I'm hoping it'll make a big difference!

You don’t even need whites at all. I ran blue only for over a year with my corals doing great. Blue only can help reduce algae growth.

If op has the ability to I would say run red at zero, green doesn’t really matter. And white 0-5% until things are under control
I have a BioCube with stock lights. Hair algae is my biggest issue. Is there a suggestion for lighting with straight stock lights?

Make a dedicated thread with white light photos of the tank, issues, and list parameters, age of tank, live stock, feeding schedule, etc. everyone really needs dedicated personalized help, and we will. Just make a thread and we can go from there
