Why can’t I grow acros. So frustrated - perfect set up I thought

The Orphek bars are super focused hot spot machines that need to be mounted 20” or more from the tank to try and mitigate the hot spots.

Not all LED bars are equal or created the same. They each have a use
It’s another thing to consider for sure. I would argue it’s a front and rear hot stripe vs hot spot , it’s hard to tell how high they are mounted but they are on the outsides of the light rack and aimed towards center which would provide maximum distance in the current setup

Back to some basics, which corals do you have, and how long have you had them? Are the bases growing out at all? Colors good? Give us some more specifics on what you're seeing (or not seeing)

One issue I had was my SG was off, I was using two different tools to measure and they were both very wrong. Once I got the tropic marin hydrometer and dialed in sg, magically everything got better. Maybe not your issue but it def was something I learned the hard way.

It's 225g, I assume 6 foot tank, that doesn't seem like too much to me. I have 2 mp60, 2 xf250 gyres, and 2 other powerheads in my 180g and it's not too much flow
Yeah, pretty similar here. In an RSR525xl I have 2 x xf350 gyres, 2 x Nero 7’s and 4 x Nero 5’s, it’s nowhere near too much flow…

What’s your top off process like? Do you happen to have a big salinity change from doing it in large amounts at a time? Acros love stability. I found the best help to doing a PAR map and checking phosphate. Some of it can be sheer luck though. I’ve had acros melt in my best tank and flourish in my dirtiest.

I can see upping the time at peak to six hours. Hitting 400 in your pics is good, I don't see any problems there.

How long have you been running at 36+ ppt? Maybe an issue?
I can't think of anyone that runs that high.

I gave up on my salt probe. You mean (I am not being sarcastic) there are ones that work?

Sorry if this been discussed what is your Tin, Zinc, and dreaded copper. Tin alone above 10 cause Acros to grow slow and weird growth patterns elevated Tin and Zinc are usually same contamination source, copper usually from RO/DI or in tank contamination. I went through the high Tin and Zinc and Acro growth weirdness . Digi’s and montapors were a slow death. Finally found my source after a year of elimination.. After removal and four weeks of 30% water changes it’s like a totally new tank (been 4 months) everything bounced right back

LOL, sorry, my apexel didn't come with one and I actually never thought it would be reliable so I never bothered to look into them. I was assuming your number was correct. Which brings me to my next question;

What's your salanity and how do you test it? :)

What is your maintenance routine? Do you change water regularly and if not do you dose trace elements? Have you run an icp lately?
