Water look clear after it settles its crystal clear. i vacum the sand bed every 2 weeks and I change carbon ever two weeks but while I am vacumming it looks reddish not yellow. I think its from maybe diatoms but areas of low flow turn the sand reddish and I have some frag racks on legs so always reddish under there!

Cant wait until frag tank is ready so I can move those racks! My new blenny has been very happy pecking at them! lol

It's sort of blue-ish, this is from my AWC waste water

Once the SPS coral take over, I find the water in the bucket is nearly clear. I don't like it to be too clear. I find it indicates a nutrient shortage that will cause issue, eventually. It really comes down to what my coral have become accustomed to. If I go crazy with carbon / GFO / Water changes, it drastically changes PAR levels and nutrient availability in the system, which throws everything off. Kind of obvious I suppose. All that said, I like to see a subtle tint of yellow/blue.. almost green, in a white bucket.

A couple of weeks doing calcium carbonate and you will have the best clear water that you’ve ever had. Turning clarity up a notch.

I don’t have a white bucket. Does a white ceramic coffee mug count?
