I feel like an idiot, but I can't find the 'spiffs.bin' file for the life of me. I have searched my computer and for any reference to it here, on the GHL website (incl knowledge base, support site, etc), and using Google. The instructions for updating the Wifi firmware are clear that I need to do this first... but with no mention of where/how I'm supposed to find this mysterious file. Help?

Hello,

"spiffs.bin" is the old name of "filesystem.bin".

firmware.bin contains the WiFi Module firmware
filesystem.bin contains the entire WiFi module file system, including the web interface (but not the firmware).

They can be updated via the File Transfer function on the network page or via the emergency web interface /update/ (which should work even if the web interface or file system is broken, as long as the firmware is working. Start by updating the WiFi module firmware and then update filesystem.bin)

If you're using the DNV function (https://www.aquariumcomputer.com/de/knowledge-base/dynamischer-sollwert-mit-profilux-4/), don't update it, or you'll delete your dynamic value table. In this case, update the web interface with the "index.html.gz" file via the File transfer function on the network page.

These files can be obtained from https://www.aquariumcomputer.com/downloads/wifi-module-esp-update/

Gaël, thank you! That was the missing link. I was able to update both the firmware and the filesystem for the WiFi. The connections to GHL seem much happier now.
