I see a few websites that advertise "cut to order" frags. Assuming that they are actually cut to order is there any advantage to that. I thought frags needed an iodine dip & time to recover?

Just means they need more time to ship your order, or let the ones they already cut heal

They are not custom cutting your frags for you specifically

I have asked numerous coral farmers to send fresh cut SPS frags without plugs. Not one has taken the offer. I can put them on clean plugs myself

"Just put a little CA glue on the cut, if you like". No takers

Fresh cut and shipped was very common for at least 10 years. There were no farming facilities other than ORA. It was all hobbyists and small coral vendors at the time.

I never lost a single acro frag shipping to buyers. The advantage are the corals are very light, ship well and are less stressed. Once you put glue on an fresh cut it's a whole different story.

Pests are less likely an issue as you aren't going to miss them when they are microscopic on a plug.
