What other hobbies have taken the backseat to reefing?

What other hobbies do you have that take a backseat to reefing? I finally, after a 2 year break, fired up the lathe today and pumped out a few pens.

I love my lathe. I had a Nova lathe before this one, after 6 years it died on me so I upgraded. I love it. I just don’t use it enough anymore.

Cant say I put any to the side, but I did have to budget a bit better for all my hobbies, I do a lot of gardening and creative writing. For a while I slowed down on my garden purchases because all my money was going to corals.

It’s so hard to decide which hobby gets the extra funds. I always second guess myself.

I guess that's what makes seasons tolerable. In the winter it's reefin, summers more on my outdoor hobbies.

I put my other hobbies to the side in favor of reef keeping. I get more out if it. Mountain biking, reloading, home brewing. Now it's all about the tank.

Interesting question and we all need to write our own story. For me, I try to look for convergence with my interests.

Muscle cars, drag racing, and road racing. Require a lot more $$ than I spend here though. Just gas and engine replacements cost more in 1 year than I've spent in this hobby in 5. Too much time at redline. When a 5k+ engine lasts 5 years at most plus 5mpg, clutches, gears, TIRES, etc...
