Island Country Club, Marco Island

Very cool! I have friends who live in Bonita Springs area and I get down to play golf with them a few times a year. Some great courses down there but I have never played yours. I’m sure it’s amazing, as everything on Marco Island is beautiful.

I’m an Environmental Health Specialist. I work in local public health inspecting restaurants, body art facilities, and DHHS facilities. Yes, I have seen it all and then some.

I work in laboratories. There are three labs I'm in now, my main one is a manufacturing lab for media to grow pathogens in food. The second is a processing lab where I just put water in bags all day, the third is a hastily set up COVID testing facility since we have a high class lab upstairs.

I am always interested in people career choice. I am wondering how many here are actually in the field we love, fishes.

I am a claims adjuster. I have been a manager, supervisor, and adjuster for 20+ years. It is constant source of conflict and stress.

What do you folks do and how do you like it?

(Anyone have a job for me in NC?):)

I'm in claims, too! What lines do you handle? 98% of my claims are commercial auto (mostl of that is trucking) with a little bit of general liability.

I love the work, but it absolutely is a constant source of stress and conflict and new challenges.

Distribution sales rep. Selling pet, equine, farm, lawn and garden, wild bird, pet food, and AQUATIC items to stores.

Our warehouse carries around 25,000 items at any given time, so it gets confusing and overwhelming at times.

We sell mostly mid tier aquatic items, Aqueon and Perfecto tanks, Current USA products, eshopps, aquatop, instant ocean, seachem/aquavitro, ect... Lot's of the products we sell hit the middle of the market, not the top end stuff.

To be honest I like selling farm and equine items much more than aquatic items. On the farm side people will say yes/no firmly and tell you if your price is good or bad. Most of the LFS i deal with complain about pricing 100% of the time. Even if I can beat the competition by $75 on a 180g tank, they still complain about pricing.

I'm a buyer at an oil refinery for a major oil company. Job can be very stressful at times. Refineries hemorrhage money when rate is reduced. GREAT people in my department. I would trust any of them with my family or wallet. It doesn't get better that that!

I do personal auto for one of the many 15 minute or less companies. I have always done personal lines. I managed for a long time at 2 other large carriers and gave up managing after that burned me out. Now I just want to be a rep. Like you said the Job is horribly stressful. I don’t like saying this but I hate it. My boss is the reason I stay, and money :D.

I can't say I hate my job, but it is both stressful and boring.

The money is good, and I work so I can enjoy other things, like reefing, shooting, and spending money on my two little boys.

I'm a water and wastewater treatment plant operator. I design, build, operate, and maintain treatment systems. We have a family run corporation I enjoy running the company with my family partners and providing a valuable service for our clients. It's kind of related.
