Update: landed my 3rd chef title. Breakfast only at a hotel. Looking forward to figuring out a new monster. I’ll still cater and do private dinners. Food truck will have to wait until I get restless....

Garde Manger chef for five years here. I worked dinner cruises on San Diego Bay and ended my culinary career making ice sculptures for a local casino. It’s an entertaining but difficult career choice for sure.

This is my business.
One of my great passions is to take people out who have never expierienced the marine environment and showing them how intracate and amazing the ocean and all the life in it. From the whales to the different kinds of fish to the riptides and currents right down to the lowly jelly fish!
Also helping people deal with the release of a loved one back to the birth place of our world.
I love my profession! THREE_~1.JPG kelp.JPG PICT0329.JPG shark feeding.jpg 11riptide_return1_edited-4.jpg Smitty blowing bubbles.jpg captian1.jpg

I’m Envious. I took a semester off in college and did marine biology and maritime law aboard the RV Westward. A two master schooner who’s captain would never use the engines leaving port. We sailed out of Key West across the Gulf Stream and into that Sargasso Sea. We lived in 4 hour shifts..4 hours on science duty, 4 hours on ships mate duty and 4 hours off around the clock over and over again for the 6 Months. We learned to navigate with a sextant and name the night sky. A funny story I was once whistling a little tune while bringing in some lines and the captain said to me..”son only two people whistle onboard my ship...fools and boatswains mates...and you are no boatswains mate!” I no longer whistled while I worked. I learned great respect for the Sea during many storms with seas crashing over the deck. Respect and safe travels to you and your crew!!

Headlight retrofitter

. asd.jpg

I am an insurance adjuster. Been trying to get out the field for years.

I was actually thinking of trying to do somewhat the same thing. We have a plastic repair guy who goes to shops and repairs broken tabs and housings. Makes a fortune. I was thinking about learning 3 d printing to recreate and produce tabs and such to repair lamps. Thinking of a being a sublet vendor where I would pick up a lamp from a shop and return next day. I know lots of sources I could get work from.

Wondering how you got started and is it worth it
