Been using BRS for years, but thinking about trying the Brightwell Kalk +2 when I run out.

BRS is the only kalk that i've used that didnt tear up the maxi jet impellers on my reactor. I was changing them every 2-3 months with brightwells, but i havent change the impeller once since switching to the BRS brand FWIW.

Wow, great insight to this. I wonder if this is why I haven't had to change it at all in my Precision Marine reactor, but when I used Kent in my Geo, I had to replace all the time.

what does it do to them eat them up or just build up on them

I assume it just builds up on the impeller, causing it to turn off balance and eventually wear down. When I noticed it wasn't mixing correctly anymore, I took out the impeller and the blades were completely gone.

wow!! how often do you clean your pump

I clean my current one every few months, as I completely take the reactor out and wash the entire thing down in the sink. I haven't had this problem with the BRS kalk though, so it might be from using the Kent that I used in the past.

It doesn't hurt to be there, but you could always throw a power head in there and mix it every so often, like once a day or whatever, to keep the limewater potent. I've honestly never seen anybody do it like that, but I don't see why it would hurt.

did not know if it would make it weak or not. but it seams it would make sence to get it out so it dont get in your tank. just wondering if any one has tried to do it or not

There are plenty ways to dose it without having to change the water around in containers and stuff. Once you mix it, just keep the input to your pump an inch or two above the bottom, so it doesn't pull the powder.

You could also buy a probe holder or RO tubing holder with magnets to clamp the tube up a bit from the bottom. Something like this one, which is what I use for my dosing tubing:
