Hello,

Just a question of curiosity.
Assuming a set Alkalinity target would there be any difference in pH between using Kalk, All for Reef or 2 part ? Or would they all settle at the same pH level.
I know there can be limitations to the amount of Kalk one could use based on evaporation and saturation of solution.
I have a CO2 scrubber and windows open but when using AFR I have not seen the pH I wanted when the CO2 media is exhausted. So I was curious if Kalk would be a more cost effective method or perhaps a hybrid of AFR and Kalk to help maintain my desired pH of 8.20-8.30.

Thanks for your input!

Sure. AFR will be at the low end (identical to using sodium bicarbonate. Two parts have various effects depending on how they are formulated, from the same as AFR to the same as kalkwasser. Kalkwasser is at the high end.

The size of these effects depend on many factors such as amount added, the absolute starting alk and pH values, and degree of aeration.
