What do you think are the absolute worst pests in the entire reef hobby? Which ones have been a plague of evil to your hobby enjoyment?

There will be many answers. Issue here is that it depends on your tank, sometimes one particular creature can spread out of proportions. I had aiptasia, but it never dominated my tank. Neither vermetid snails, nor asterina were big nuisance. One of my tank was totally dominated by Neomeris algae and I had to break it down.
My 200 gal, mixed reef was taken over by majanos and I also had to brake it down. Interestingly I have few cachectic majanos in my “reject” tank and they are dying off now. So figure it out- it depends on particular conditions and possibly stage of your tank. 3ECD9AE9-A5C8-4620-A4E6-19C76AFB523D.jpeg

Hmm well my vermetid snails have been dissapearing for some unknown reason and I find aiptasia very manageable so long as I have either peppermint shrimp or a butterfly. However cyano keeps returning and it is the bane of my reefing so far!

The infamous 'mini q-tips of death' (digitate hydroids). Especially damaging to LPS and Zoas.

Fulgida worms. Nothing has been more destructive in my near two-decades in the hobby.

Vermetids don't bother my corals and neither do digitate hydroids. Aiptasia simply do not exist in my systems.

But those dang worms are near impossible to get rid of, and don't let me have any nice snails or clams.
