Looks too large to be ich. More history is needed here, this post explains that:

More specifically; how long has the fish had these spots? Any other symptoms?

I don't see HLLE, I see Ich. Definitely a sign of sickness. Color and weight look good.

The pics are a little fuzzy but based on the size of the dots appears to be cryptocaryon which is marine ich.
Treatment will need to be done in a quarantine setting and treated with either coppersafe or copper power s as t therapeutic level 2.24-2.5 for a FULL 30 days monitored by a reliable copper test kit such as Hanna brand. Also monitor ammonia levels with a reliable test kit and increase oxygen with an air stone

How is the fish breathing and any unusual behaviors?

Well, I think you’ll need to wait until tomorrow and see if any additional symptoms develop.

The spots are slowly fading and still acting normal. still unsure what was happening
Are the spots going away or just fading? Mucus spots will fade, but ich spots tend to go away and then return in different locations.
