We received some T8 Reef bulbs from a sponsor

Is anyone out there using T8 bulbs for a reef tank? I ask because a sponsor sent us a few T8 reef bulbs, and I haven't seen any in use.

No, you won't see anyone using T-8s. They don't produce enough light for a Reef tank. They are ok to use with a FOWLR.

I was asking since they sent some to give away. It seemed odd to me, but I thought maybe I was just not informed.

I'm not aware of anything you can keep under T-8's besides just fish. Maybe just Mushrooms.

Yea, but how much growth have you seen since you've gotten them? Those things grow like weeds under the right lighting.
