Hey guys, my wife and I visited Williamsburg this weekend an were able to tour the Virginia Aquarium. Thought I would share a couple photos. We paid 20$ extra and did a behind the scenes tour that I thought was definitely worth the money. Unfortunately they would not let us take pictures in the back but they had some awesome equipment. You could bathe inside the skimmer cups, one tank had 4 skimmers that were 10-12 foot tall, it was really impressive! I'm always a little disappointed with the lack of live corals in displays. They only had 1 display tank with live corals which reminded me of Chattanooga. Anyways here's a few pics of what they did have.
A frag tank on display. Had a mix of soft, sps, and lips
A baby loggerhead turtle. Seems like their turtles were their main attraction and they had a large breeding program
Jellyfish propagation
Their only reef tank. Not sure what size but it was huge. From what I could tell it was all soft corals
