I have been dosing twice a week since the first week in November and recently cut back to a once a week maintenance dose. The bad outbreak of bubble algae in one tank is almost gone ( only a few stray bubbles left:)). The Bryopsis is still there, but is very manageable. The other tank has the Cyano and it is being treated with peroxide. I have posted updates in the big thread several times. I want to thank Jeff at UWC for continuing to answer all of the questions we have, can't believe he is still hanging in there:p!

When dosing once a week is anyone having issues with keeping micro algae in a refugium? Like cheato.

I removed mine beforehand. I do have some attached to rocks in the display area. It has started to die after the third dose.

Bryopsis has lighter colour on it's tips now.

I had a decent amount of hair algae in my tank and after one dose a few days ago it is almost completely gone. I can't believe that it actually worked.

An update on my vibrant use. After a little more than a month, I have noticed the two "goatee" sized tiffs of hair algae are gone and most of the coin purse size cluster of bubble algae also. I did notice a small hint of Cyrano in my 29 gallon tank but I am sold and give 2 thumbs up on Vibrant.

Dosed 12ml twice a week on a 125 gallon system for about 2.5 weeks. It totally eliminated all algae in my tank. I was dosing to take care of a persistent (but in no way severe) hair algae problem. I am sure it has been stated before, but when dosing make sure you are removing excess nutrients efficiently to take care of the die off (skim wet for example).

I did my second dose last week, and I do notice a difference.

I am not sure what algae I had growing on my overflow (it was brown and spongy like, very thin), it's all gone now.
I had cyano (red slime) on my sandbed. It's been cut back about 30%. I will have to continue to manually clean this out myself.
bits of algae on my rocks are gone.

I am thrilled it cleaned my algae, but now I am thinking there's not enough algae for my fish and CUC, lol.

My chaetos are still doing well, but my dragonsbreath has dwindled a bit.

yes it got rid of most of my algae problem. been using it since November. Still dealing with cyano. Doing large water changes and it is starting to recede.

Started using Dec 10th. I had brown dinos and gha. Brown went away quickly. Some red showed up but is almost completely gone now. Green hair is still going strong. I clean tank weekly with w/c . Started dosing once a week but zoas and lps were closing up. Gha started thinning with once a week doses(1ml per 10 gal), but corals didn't like the 0 nutrients. Back to dosing every 2 week's but gha is coming back

I had battled a bad outbreak of what I would call white hair algae (a very pale filamentous algae, definitely photosynthetic and not a bacteria outbreak) for a few months. I was trying to starve it out by reducing nitrates and phosphates to absolutely zero levels and holding them there (a good technique for starving out algae, but also hard on corals), and was manually removing as much as possible with a scrub brush and siphoning the loose stuff out.

I was slowly winning the battle, but decided to see if Vibrant would finish it off. I gave the tank one dose of Vibrant on a Saturday according to the instructions. Seven days later there was obviously much less algae than there had been the week before. I gave the tank one more dose on the next Saturday (eight days after the first dose). Within the next 24 hours the algae was completely gone, and has stayed gone for about a month now. I have some chaeto in one of the rear compartments of the tank. Chaeto growth slowed after dosing Vibrant but appears to be healthy. I experienced no livestock losses or negative effects on livestock after using Vibrant.

My opinion is that Vibrant is a great product and I will continue to use it on an as-needed basis. Having said that, I do also want to point out that this product will not replace good maintenance habits and water quality. Take care of your tank, do all that you can to prevent, contain, or fight back an algae outbreak, and THEN add Vibrant to your approach and you will be very likely to see excellent results.

My tank details:
20 gallon Innovative Marine Nano Fusion
4 x 24" ATI dimmable T5 fixture, 5" from water surface

Question to all. I've got my 75G tank that's been up for 2 weeks and still cycling. I have green hair algae that has gotten all over my rock and mp10s. I have cut out all but my blue light to try to not feed the algae. Should I dose with Vibrant since it's a new cycling tank? I have chaeto in my refugium and I'm worried that it might kill it. I also have a algae scrubber in the sump that is starting to build up algae to absorb nutrients. What do you recommend?

I used it for 12 weeks and saw no appreciable change in my algae. The only change I've seen is I now have a rip roaring case of cyano that I've never had before. :(

It's part of the new tank cycle. I would not dose vibrant for that. It's a process your tank will go through and clear up as it matures. Stay on top of your maintenance and keep your nutrients in check, and you should see this clear up on it's own.

True about the cycle. Should not even be thinking about "cures" until it's 6 months old.

The Vibrant will certainly cause problems for the scrubber and chaeto. And the scrubber will cause problems for the chaeto too. But with strong enough algal filtration you should not need any fixes later.

Unfortunately trimming is useless. Your tank is too young for an angel or tang. Luckily your tank is young. Take the infected rocks out and grind off the roots. Trimming spreads the spores creating more problems. With that crap you need to just decide to go all the hard way and put in the labor to get in front of it. Good news? Once its roots are ground out youll be good. If you see some sneaking in your tank should be cycled well enough and you can put in the fish that handle this for you
