No tank update in a few days... not today either but we went to a parade! Merry Christmas from Boykin, SC. Population of about 40, until the Boykin parade comes to town. This little civil war town is about 10 minutes from the house and usually nobody comes thru here. The main attraction of the parade is the fatback queen (yes, "she's" that kind of queen) and her court.

Oh, and I managed to get a sunburn on my head on a cloudy day... no pictures of floats. Middle of nowhere, no signal and I was there at 8am for a 2pm parade, gotta get there early and tailgate, this is a redneck parade. My phone battery drained FAST!

Everyone is doing great... Bonnie and Clyde are themselves. Tim I'm pretty sure is a male, so that's good. It's hard to see his tail, but I think it has those things @Katrina71 was talking about. Maui was poking around just a little while ago so I fed him. McLeod just kinda hangs out here and there. The two basslets might as well not exist. I haven't seen them since I added them to the tank. I've put them on the MIA list, only because haven't recovered any bodies.

The blue stylo continues to recover slowly in the frag tank. My hyacinth birds nest however is thriving in the 35... funny. Acans, LPS and softies are still happy. Tank is going thru some uglies, need more CUC after the first of the year. We're also going to try chaeto then too.

Nice job with the pics! Youre making me want to give Acans another go. Maybe a rainbow acan nano??

It's the camera, not the photographer. Here's that birds nest in auto mode, and in pro with a few adjustments to get what I see with my eye.(same picture as above)

Ok so maybe some of it is photographer. I did have to adjust the settings to get the best image. The camera on this phone makes it possible tho.

You need one of those IM 8g Nuvo's with a small LED, say an A80 or so, minimalist rock scape and acans EVERYWHERE. Maybe a small goby and shrimp pair. In my experience, acans don't need much light at all. Mine are getting maybe 50 PAR right now. That's a good question and I have a Seneye. Project for Thursday on my day off...

Speaking of gobies and shrimp... stay tuned tomorrow ;)... I may just have a really freaking cool surprise in store.

To push us over the edge on free shipping, we got this little piece of galaxia coral too. It seems to like the tank so far, it's already starting to open. I'm not real sure on where to place it just yet. The front rock, past the BTA is zoa peninsula. Once the BTA grows out I'm hoping it'll help contain the zoas there. The galaxia will send out sweepers at night too, so anything next to it will get stung.
