I could have used 3/4” fittings for the whole thing but my return pump is 1/2” so therefore I converted. You can do the same for the input and output as well as the whole thing in 3/4”.
- (BRS) silicone tubing 1/2”
- (BRS) 1/2” barb x 1/2” MPT
- (Ace) 90 degree elbow 1/2” FPT x 1/2” MPT
- (BRS or Ace) bushing 3/4” MPT x 1/2” FPT
- Piece of UV’s stock fittings has 3/4” female threads.

@Port City Reefer If you use the Apex flow sensor you’ll have to convert to 1/2” briefly to plumb in the sensor then back to 3/4” for the hose the way you’re doing it. I would use a bushing, 3/4” MPT x 1/2” slip, or socket as they say. Then use 1/2” pipe coming out of that fitting into the special coupler that comes with the sensor. The sensor comes with two of those pieces. Then come out of the second coupling with pipe and with that pipe another bushing to switch from 1/2” back to 3/4”. Let me know if you have any questions. Using bushings is the best way to change fitting sizes.I do have one more question, I plan to also install the apex flow meter just like yours as well. Do you have those specific ones as well. I plan to stay with the 3/4 size because that is the hose size I have already purchased as well the sicce 2.0.
