Fortunately there’s sink on the other side of the wall from my ATO reservoir and saltwater bin. Drilled a hole through the wall see end of index finger. Added an ammonia badge from our LFS.

Printed Reef bristle worm trap weighed down by an apex PAR sensor with rock holder. Saw very little hitchhikers with ocean liverocks this time. Going to try my luck and catch some worms with bait once the trap gets acclimated with bacteria.

Great set up. Fully loaded on the equipment!! Would you mind please sharing the correct elbow fitting size or other adapters needed to set up your UV ? I am looking to do the same.
@Port City Reefer
  1. (BRS) silicone tubing 1/2”
  2. (BRS) 1/2” barb x 1/2” MPT
  3. (Ace) 90 degree elbow 1/2” FPT x 1/2” MPT
  4. (BRS or Ace) bushing 3/4” MPT x 1/2” FPT
  5. Piece of UV’s stock fittings has 3/4” female threads.
I could have used 3/4” fittings for the whole thing but my return pump is 1/2” so therefore I converted. You can do the same for the input and output as well as the whole thing in 3/4”.

Speaking of plumbing, I just got rid of all my residual leaks. There were several just barely a drip and all it took was more teflon and elbow grease. Still want to put in a Georg Fischer check valve.

I do have one more question, I plan to also install the apex flow meter just like yours as well. Do you have those specific ones as well. I plan to stay with the 3/4 size because that is the hose size I have already purchased as well the sicce 2.0.

@Port City Reefer If you use the Apex flow sensor you’ll have to convert to 1/2” briefly to plumb in the sensor then back to 3/4” for the hose the way you’re doing it. I would use a bushing, 3/4” MPT x 1/2” slip, or socket as they say. Then use 1/2” pipe coming out of that fitting into the special coupler that comes with the sensor. The sensor comes with two of those pieces. Then come out of the second coupling with pipe and with that pipe another bushing to switch from 1/2” back to 3/4”. Let me know if you have any questions. Using bushings is the best way to change fitting sizes.
