Not sure if i can do much more, but I tore my wrasse jaw off trying to get him out of QT. He's in clean water with antibiotics (metroplex and maracyn), but I'm not sure what else to do since after two minutes he's acting like he has given up

He lipped himself on my net and after a couple minutes of trying to get him off, a V shaped bone stayed in the net. He dropped instantly and hasn't really moved much since.

Also this isn't a known wrasse thing is it? I've never had something happen like this before and I'm not sure how to even avoid it next time

Getting old sucks. Beats the alternative though

I've seen them freak out in the net and hurt themselves. Had one give himself popeye but I've never seen them bite her enough to rip their jaw off. Can't really see from the pictures though if it was his actual jaw or just a bit of skin

Thios damage in which is avoidable by leaving the fish to release itself or cut net away is avoidable but need clear pic of the gill area to see extent of damage.
Is fish breathing normal or rapid?
Metro is being used too often and will offer no repair and must be used precisely. In addition maracyn is out of the question as its erythromycin and best for eye issues. Without seeing damage, hard to recommend what would help but adding an air stone may or may not help the fish but sounds like the damage is superficial

i cant think

These fish are very well known for biting into the nets when stressed, I’ve had a couple do it (I hate netting fish in the LFS for this reason - way too many get stuck in the nets).
Best way to avoid it in the future is hand catching them, it may be difficult but I will always prefer it as the fish can’t get stuck in anything.

Agree and my favorite is using a cup to corner and capture with no damage

Update: he's alive but has no control of his lower lip. I think my biggest concern now will just be if he can eat

Sorry to see. I agree, testing it to see if it can/will eat is the next step. Infection, if it happens at all, would be a later issue.
