I've never used a diffusor. Depends on the look you're after.
I understand.. Ive read that you even lose some spread with the diffuser, not sure if its true.
Plus you def. gonna lose some PAR when using it.

I will remove my diffuser and see if I like that look more though.

Question for the smoothie experts, any experience with maricultured/wild smooth skins? Do they typically change or lose color?
They respond to light changes faster than most Acros. meaning they 'suntan' or change color more readily. I'm not sure whether or not it's because of their adapability to 'deep water' where they have to make the best use of incoming light or not.

They usually change growth form in captivity and produce more branches/denser corallites. Some are pretty darn touchy, I have not seen many suharsonoi grown out into substantial colonies in the 20 some years they have been imported. And far fewer elegans or any of the really oddball deepwaters survive.

One of my RRC Jaw droppers is starting to take off again after remaining dormant for years. It's direct from the source when they shipped just a few frags in 2014 ( all of them were tiny and browned out too). Glad a few survived!

Looks like maybe a loripes to me. They tend to have corallites all on one side of some branches like that. How long have you had it? It is a really nice color!

There are a lot of new forms and colors like this coming in from Malaysia now that there isn’t much track record for yet. Hope it grows well for you!

Actually I was looking on my phone earlier and didn't see the photo as clearly. That is a speciosa to the bottom left, so it has tiny branches. The main coral in the photo is more like the Jawdropper or Skinny Love species I think, which grow into tabling Acropora with smooth branches. Not exactly sure what species, maybe A. jacquelinae. Quite a bit smaller, thinner branches than loripes.
