As a newcomer to the hobby, I love that @Tidal Gardens website has educational information about every type of coral.
Thank you, We try our best. When we started, YouTube was not a thing and it was really hard to find information in this hobby.

This is one of my dream fish' Just want to make sure my tank is very well established before I get one. Don't want them to starve to death.

I just got one, thinking I could clean out my amphipod infestations... But his mouth is still too little.... So I've had a crash course in keeping/growing copepods and hatching baby brine shrimp. He's my favorite fish and I spoil him rotten. I was so worried that he'd starve, I've made him fat! ( And the rest of the fish are getting just as greedy. I've had to keep BBS hatching non-stop!)

Are you using some kind of feeding device for the BBS?

@Tidal Gardens There are so many favorites! But this beauty is the lone fish in my DT. More to come in the future.

@BuilderT I got this Spotted Mandarin for me and a Green Mandarin like you posted from a reputable LFS, that actually goes through a true QT process. Plus they get all the fish eating, not just live food. This chunky guy eats so much stuff. He still patrols and hunts for copepods all day long, but will happily accept various Reef Nutrition concentrated copepod products, small pellets, mysis, coral powder foods, etc. It's amazing to see then eat other stuff. It was worth every penny to pay extra for a super healthy fish that's willingly eating other food items.

I would definitely recommend to learn how to culture copepods too. Just so you can have a constant supply and to encourage their natural behavior.
You're so lucky. Mando doesn't seem to eat anything processed. He hunts non-stop and I don't think I'll ever have enough pods, cuz I can't see them.... But I'm VERY good at hatching. He's fat dumb and happy! Screenshot_20240628-133616.png
His little friend brown and white dragonet will eat anything, though!

He just doesn't hold still long enough for a portrait!

Mine definitely prefer live food! They won't stop hunting. But to know they'll take other foods, makes our anxiety so much less with them. They are such a gorgeous fish!

We haven't seen ours go for prepared foods yet but they should have plenty to eat. Only one in a 300 or 600-gallon tank.
