The one thing I didn’t realize before deciding to start my first tank was how expensive corals are extra horror when you read that most new reefers kill everything they put in their tanks
Corals don't HAVE to be expensive but people tend to gravitate to the most popular ones and those are always going to be pricy.

The key is making sure you have stability in the tank. So testing more frequently in the beginning is best. Buying aquacultured corals helps.

NOON CHECK-IN

If you could make any fish reef safe, what would it be?

Ya, it's brutally expensive. I just paid $200 for a sherman that was a "good deal" because it was 10" across but that's more than my parents have spent on every fish ever for their fresh water tank.

Would think the more popular ones would be cheaper because everyone has them :(
The corals that are in the highest demand are usually so for a reason. The most desirable are almost impossible to even find for sale. At that point it's not even about the money, nobody will sell you one.

Don't sleep on the cost of FW. The most expensive fish are all FW.
