I thought it was an umbrella cockatoo

My daughter makes them and I asked for something ridiculous for Father's Day. She made me that "because I'm so corny"....

I asked if she was sure it wasn't because I was Pop Corn

So I guess the good news is that the GFO seems to already be working well and my alkalinity is perfect though the fact it’s falling shows I need to up AFR. Bad news is my nitrate is really high. Shouldn’t have stopped using bacto balance. But at least @Miami Reef stopped flirting for a second to make a great dosing chart. I’m going to start adding 30ml of vinegar until I run out of vinegar and then switch to vodka.

Well, most days I get over 100 emails in my work inbox. Half of them are reports that my two leads use and a bunch more are emails from Finance to my field staff. I'm just too lazy to delete them or move them to a folder to file away.
That's what rules are for. From: anyone to: me action: delete action: reply "stop annoying me with your nonsense. I'm only here to afford my reef keeping hobby."
I'm under two litigation holds and can't delete any work emails which is very stressful for me.
As others said, folders.
The attorneys get irritated if you label one “trash the blood sucking parasites won’t let me delete even though the system has a copy of everything sent and received”
"Tbspwlmsetshcesar"
I should specify that corporate council at the time was my sister. So I was deliberately trying to irritate her
Or do your thing.

Also, this isn't the thread I expect to have packed on 5 pages while I was away.

That said, @Miami Reef does like to rouse the rabble...
I think you might consider turning off your notifications for this thread if it’s that much of a burden for you.

I personally am interested in following along. This is a hobby forum and reefers of any experience or background should be allowed to post. Consider it a rough draft. Let him test out if MB works to reduce nutrient readings in his tank and allow us who enjoy this follow along. Thank you.

Randy, the moderator of the chemistry forum already said that the thread was OK here.

Look at the sticky post above this subform: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/threads-suited-to-this-forum.963660/

Doesn’t mean you can start telling people what qualifies as a proper experiment in a hobby forum. You aren’t even a staff member here. I think you are being way too harsh and for no good reason. Please don’t take your “job” too seriously; it kills the fun of the hobby.

First: it's interesting to me that this thread, of all that I post on r2r, is the one that seems to get people the most emotionally charged.

Second: I thought I laid out fairly clearly in the title and in the first post that this will be more "from the hip" or "spirit led" than lab conditioned.

c: My three goals seem to have been:
c.1: "posterity". Not sure what I meant by that, but I may or may not be hitting it.
c.b: ease of reference (for me). wherein I would post ongoing data collected. those naturally include nutrient readings and require no interaction from third parties. In fact, ease of reference would be aided by a long string of my data posts.
c.3: get one more entry in the supporting member giveaway. That was succeeded, even though I did not win anything that particular month.

d: I have now drunk my science juice
Animated GIF

and will soon post a mid-term evaluation or observation. call it what you will, I will right words, hoping they are coherent, about the status of my tank and it's changes.

+10,000 to this. My tank is in my office and a surefire way to kiss my office tank goodbye is to flood it. When the water is all in one box, just have to worry about seam failures.
I still have trouble with my water levels rising and falling behind the wall of my AIO. Every time I change a filter or something, the level changes, making running an ATO almost impossible

Unfortunately it's the same with any sump. As sponges/socks/floss start to get dirty they start piling up water behind them this lowering the water in the return chamber. When you remove/replace those filter media components the restrictions are lessened significantly causing the water to flow into the return chamber more readily causing the return chamber level to rise and the filter chambers to lower slightly.

The only sure fire cure for this issue would be to get on a regular maintenance schedule and change/clean filter media more frequently than it needs before it starts restricting flows but who wants to do that???

He has taken over one of my build threads before. It's best not to try and find the time he derailed my Eelysium thread onto one of the oddest subjects.

Well, I am on vacation now, so the infant can be left with the grands. I should have time after my interview this afternoon. Really do need to read the job description... That's something people do before right? At least once?

Interviewing for a new job? Exciting! But no you don’t need to read it. I didn’t read mine. Had no idea what I was getting into yet I somehow still got the job.

Also I said it best not to look at that odd section of that thread

My current plan involves no filters for the new tank :)

So @Miami Reef what is the ratio of vodka dosed to the system to vodka dosed to my mouth?
IMG_1309.jpeg
Consume 90% of the vodka and get too drunk to remember you forgot to dose the tank. Win-win.

Must have been a good interview. How's you answer "What drew you this job?"

I did read the title. It's the same as the role I have now, just in St Louis. Also I should have a better answer to the above question rather than "I was bored at work and figured what the heck why not?"
Also I said it best not to look at that odd section of that thread
