I’ll wait till the Kaleidos comes out but if it’s not been done I’ll absolutely do it!
As I’ve learnt, I’ve got a soft spot for them…

That Kuiter is a beauty. She’s a good looking specimen!
And she’s from a tank break down!
In fact, both of those guys are tank break down fish. My Severnsi was also a tank break down.

It’s shocking how many gorgeous wrasses I find from tank break downs - in the LFS was also two earlei males from the same tank break down, it was tempting but they’re still not the first wrasse I’d pick…

I know! A wrasse lover who wouldn’t go for a Earlei. And tomorrow I’ll make my mind up on my opinion on Paracheilinus bellae.

We've got them frequently here in the Phoenix area but it's one hobbyist and one store that tend to benefit. They buy the tank breakdowns and then resell them in pieces. We can usually still get a decent price but nothing near a breakdown price.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Kuiter’s at the price this girl was especially for her size, she was less than 200!

Is 200 quid a good price for a leopard?

When you’re looking at the Kuiter’s, Moyers, Choati and Vivienne then yep! 200 is the average you’ll be around. This girl was 159 - $202.

I'll be in London and Cambridge later this month. Maybe I should find a good LFS to drop in on!
Definitely do!
near to London is AAC and they’re rather well known in the south - I got my 2 baby Maxima Clams from them.
Cambridge I can’t actually remember what shops are there but you’ll definitely find them!

Can you wrasse lovers help me with a stocking list? Setting up a new RedSea 425 and looking for a list of wrasse that will get along.

So far I love leopard wrasse, melanurus, Vroliks, and flasher wrasses.

I’ll be moving over 2 PJs, 2 snowflake clowns, and a flame angel from my current tank.

Thanks in advance!

How many wrasses in total are you looking at?
Do you want a wrasse dominated tank (like mine) or wrasses as more of a background/filler fish?

Great question! Not 100% sure. I might add one smaller tang, one dwarf angel fish, and a hobby then the rest wrasses. If I don’t do a tang (really like the powder blue but not sure it will work) I was looking at a Magnificent Foxface.

If I’m honest, I would do a foxface over a tang any day. The only tang I’ve considered was an Achilles in my 5’ but I also wanted some of the more delicate species that can easily be outcompeted.
Here’s my stock (although I don’t think I have the male Meleagris Leopard anymore).
