Still waiting on my pinkie. I just bought a bunch of freeze dried mysis and calanus to try out, see if my wrasses like it. They are currently overdosing on ROE and TDO pellets.

I've found frozen calanus to be like ROE. Never seen a fish not eat it up like candy.

So none of y'all have kept Stethojulis spp. wrasses previously long-term?

Also after skimming the past 4 pages to catch up, I saw someone mention keeping Bodianus species in pairs. Years ago I had a spawning pair of Bodianus bimaculatus. They would do nightly spawning dances, spinning around one another and shooting up into the water column to spawn. The male was about 1" larger than the female. He was roughly 4", she was about 3".

I've also kept multiple species together without issue. Bodianus bimaculatus with Bodianus sepiacaudus, and Bodianus rufus with Bodianus axillaris. Zero aggression towards one another in both cases.

On another note, anybody had issues with Thalassoma harwicke going after eyes on tankmates? I had a Thalassoma lunare years ago that liked plucking eyes from tankmates, especially cardinalfish and definitely do not want my hardwicke to do that to this guy (1.5 " popeye catalufa) once he eventually goes in the FOWLR (He needs to grow a bit first). The Hardwicke is about 4" now, and never had any issues with tankmates besides a little chasing the first 24 hrs or so after introductions, but rather be safe than sorry.

I’ve watched a lunare just turn on its tank mates - even a sohal tang. And it’s not pleasant to see. Although, it’s safe to say I’ve not watched them plucking eyes out of fish.

Mine will go straight for the eyes of the swordtails and silversides I feed my ribbon.However, he still gets chased away from food by my timor, and borbs has started keeping in check, too.

He's probably the fish I'm least attached to, so if he needs to be traded in, he's actually very easy to trap.

They are easy to trap, wouldn't it be nice if all wrasses were that easy to catch?
Does yours pace? Mine just zoomed back and forth all day long it was the most hyperactive wrasse I've ever kept. Even the one in the 8' tank at my LFS just zoomed back and forth every time I saw it.

My lunare was only outpaced by my cleaner.

Not as much as my desjardini.
All 3 wrasses are too busy looking for things to eat. They scour the rocks constantly.
Red has started moving small rocks now.
