The single wrasse where the price does not match the looks
My question is then about the tank size gamble.Do it!
I had one that passed a couple years ago, and in the time since I honestly kinda forgot how pretty they really are, and I’ve been very happy that I finally decided to get another one. They look like a glowing pink/orange/yellow starburst haha.
Tank stop has them on sale right now for like $90!
That might be tough for the pintail. They are whimpy and might end up in the top corner all the time. The midas can get a bit aggressive right?My question is then about the tank size gamble.
55g tank already housing a maturing dusky, a 3 y/o coral beauty, mature midas blenny, and a pair of black and white clowns.
I did try to add a young male earmuff, without success. (no sight no sign of Joey in, out, or around the tank anywhere)
I think a nice acclamation box is in my very near future, just to have on hand.
Just do it lol. My pintail is a little shy but awesome wrasse.I'm fighting with myself about a pintail. I may have to use this month's fish budget for one.
Not bad... I think my 2-3" one was $113.Do it!

Midas typically don’t have much to offer wrasse and the wrasse after awhile will put a Midas in place. The cb is her big problem but the Midas won’t help. Just not a lot of room for them all to separate and get away from each otherThat might be tough for the pintail. They are whimpy and might end up in the top corner all the time. Agreed. The biggest issue is the relatively narrow tank. The clowns no doubt have claimed their section. I’ve only owned one pintail and was pushed around by my lineatus, starcki and tomini. That was in a 120.Midas typically don’t have much to offer wrasse and the wrasse after awhile will put a Midas in place. The cb is her big problem but the Midas won’t help. And height. Pintail would stay high but there isn’t much there. Pintails can be pushovers and some sorta stand ground when it comes down to it. Adding any wrasse is a gamble for her. Pintail would be good for the smaller tank if it can take being pushed until it settles.Agreed. The biggest issue is the relatively narrow tank. The clowns no doubt have claimed their section. That's Funny I have a very similar issue going on my Rhomboid female is following my Male splendid around...Rhomboid has become very good friends with the pintail over the last week. The pintail kinda follows rhomboid around and they race around together chasing food too.
I wonder if the exquisite has become jealous. He flares up and charges at them to break the rhomboid and pintail up haha.

Old nameSo, I was looking through tankstops wrasses and noticed the Joanallenae fairy wrasse and not sure I can tell the difference between that and Naokos fairy wrasse. At least based on the pics my Naokos looks more like the Joanallenae with the elongated fins. The only difference I can see is the Joanallenae looks to have a whiter tail. Any thoughts?
Naokoae is the only one of the two species to have the thick yellow bar along the body.So, I was looking through tankstops wrasses and noticed the Joanallenae fairy wrasse and not sure I can tell the difference between that and Naokos fairy wrasse. OK thanks I think Eric has an incorrect pic for the Joanallenae which was a little confusing. I think both pics are actually Naokos like mine below being they both have the yellow stripe.Naokoae is the only one of the two species to have the thick yellow bar along the body.
Here’s my naokoae, on a joanallenae that thick bar is not there IME.
Here is a true Joanallenae in comparison;
You have pretty similar fish stock tank size and corals lol. And I've got the following, red long fin fairy wrasse, yellow coris wrasse, male leopard wrasse, melenarus wrasse, and six line wrasse all together with no issues at all. Here's the leopard, red fin, melenarus, and yellow coris all swimming together.Looking for some wrasse suggestions for my tank that would get along with my current fish.
