But with a little experimenting and conversations like this one we will come up with better methods.

Yes, and those conversations are better when people know what came before. It is easier to stand on the shoulders of giants, when you know where the giants are.

And, just to comment on something else floating around in this thread, Mother Nature always follows science. "Throughout history, every mystery ever solved, turns out to be, not magic".

Paul B you started a great thread that covers everything thanks. If you like micro breweries come to Texas, we have one on every corner along with wineries and distilleries. Atoll if you ever come to Texas look me up we can go drinking at one of them. And you will get a kick out of this, my two sons will watch soccer before football, one of them drinks warm beer, the other drinks whatever you put in front of him.

That’s why we’re so tough, no mickieD’s in our barracks...and our great sense of humour....and why you love to serve alongside us in theatre...
One of my favourite funny quotes...
"Those Brits are a strange old race, they show affection by abusing each other, will think nothing of casually stopping in the middle of a fire fight for there "brew up" and eat food that I wouldn't give to a dying dog! but f**k me, I would rather have one British squaddie on side than a entire battalion of spetznaz!!! Why? Because the British are the only people in the world who when the chips are down and there seems like no hope left, instead of getting sentimental or hysterical, will strap on there pack, charge there rifle, light up a smoke and calmly and wryly grin "well are we going then you wanker??"

Yes, that Burgess study was 50 or so years ago and I am not sure how accurate it was. I am sure some parasites have shorter life cycles and maybe some live forever.

Maybe - what the study showed was that most CI died within 8 or so days - the maximum was I think 72 days - so people added a couple more days on lol:)

I have not eaten fast food in 40 years. We export all that junk. :D

I also have a Vodka Distillery with in walking distance from my house about 26 wineries and a handful of microbreweries. Thats one reason I moved here. That and the fact that I can collect sea water almost in my back yard, but now at 5 degrees I have to chop it out and thaw it out in my house.

This thread does seem to cover all sorts of things but we still can't figure out what is the secret to an immune tank and probably won't for quite a while because us with those tanks use some different systems but we all have a few things in common.

Incorrect my friend. What you Americans fail to appreciate is that cold beer numbs the taste buds, come to think of it which is exactly what you need with US beers of course. [emoji12]
I drink REAL ale brewed in the traditional way, none of that chemical brews. We have hundreds if not thousands of micro breweries in the UK making some of the finest beers in the world. [emoji6]

Lets be honest most people drink to numb their brains and they might as well start with their taste buds cause honestly beer is not that great tasting with out food! I no longer drink any alcohol due to my past desire to get numb! Some people can and some people should not...I am one who should not. I sampled many beers from around the world and to be honest there are some great American beers and we have many micro brews just in our area that are just as good as anything in the world to be honest. We even have some local Meade's and world class Winery's. Just no longer my thing but you can enjoy all you want.

Now back to tasty fish...ever had fresh Pacific Steelhead, Alaskan King Salmon or Alaskan Halibut...now that is tasty fish! :D

So a coral added on day 1 will have any CI on it hatch and then die with no host and by day 76 you can be sure it is safe to add to the DT. Coral added on day 50 may have any CI on it hatch, but without any hosts it wont be able to continue the cycle therefore it can't re-infect the coral added on day 1?
Yes thats correct I think someone else said it had to be 76 days from the last coral added - I think that may be incorrect.
That said - if I add one coral with CI to QT on day 1 and it releases all of its infectious particles on Day 30 lets say - in 24 hours the tank is free of infectious CI. If you add another coral on day 50 with CI - its (statistically possible) that on Day 76 when you want to release coral 1 that there are infectious particles in the water. (they wouldn't be on the coral itself - but in the water) That said - the chances of that causing a problem in the DT are small (extremely small). But not impossible.

Just purchased an Oxydator D up here in Canada from a fresh water supply company. Thought I was going to have to order it from France (ebay)
Where did you get it? I've been contemplating getting one.
Thanks
