OK, so I take 18 hours to get to follow up on my name being called out, and 6 pages of this thread develops. Is this all you guys do?!?!?! ;Hilarious;Hilarious;Hilarious

@sfin52, you are absolutely right! I tried them a couple of times (2 different tanks). They only bury themselves in the sand and over a few day die off. They live by the hundreds or even by the thousands at the surf/beach interface. But only end up completely underwater for 2 to 4 hours at a time during high tide.

They are very pretty and I wish they could work... but they are a no go except as food for crabs and they end up as empty shells in the sand.

I have found a small clam that also bury themselves in the sand that does survive long term in the tank. There are actually several variations of Venus Clams that inhabit Florida waters and survive in captivity.
Thank you. I'll look onto those.

OK, so my three-year-old "new out of the box" VorTech MP-40W QD does this when I turn it on...

Any VorTech folks out there?
Never mind. I fingered it out myself.

Enjoy that thing, I absolutely love my mp40 and mp10.
They sync up together or against each other depending on setup.
There's also a nice nutrient transport mode that literally makes waves in the tank to help kick up detritus and crap for doing water changes.
They're expensive but imo worth it.

What was it?
It needed a hard reset, but couldn't get it to stay on long enough to get through it. It would just shut down. This morning I just held down the first two buttons and it let me go through the sequence. I should have thought of that yesterday, but I was preoccupied with setting the tank up.

Cool, I have no mp (insert number) pumps but I do have an M1, nice to know there is a re set, my M1 has been faultless and because I run it through a spraybar I can play with the flow. :)

Yes, there are videos in YouTube showing how. My problem was mine was shutting down before I could get through the first part of the sequence (holding down the first two buttons in the controller until you get a red, white and blue light sequence on the controller knob). I just held the first two buttons down and then powered it up. That worked.

With these and the zoa pack, I'm good for a few months. Around the end of the summer, I'll be looking for a frogpawn, duncan and a few candy canes.
I have some frogspawn and some duncans in my frag tank. When do you want to come and check them out?
