Interesting, I don't have any. They eat other stuff? That appears to be a montipora eating nudibranch.
They eat montipora (they really like caps), and will also sometimes eat anacropora. It's likely it came on a frag, or live rock.Interesting, I don't have any. They eat other stuff?
Thanks, this is a new tank. It has a few corals from my old system. A trachy, a candy cane, couple zoas. Those were in my old system over a year with no issue. Nothin else introduced and the rock is dry. StrangeThey eat montipora (they really like caps), and will also sometimes eat anacropora. It's likely it came on a frag, or live rock.
They can eat chalices as well. There are unfortunately many species of nudibranches that eat corals. Looks like one of them but which type is hard to know. My biggest suggestion is keep an eye out. If something starts to decline react quicklyInteresting, I don't have any. They eat other stuff?
thank you. I do have two cyphastrea frags in there that arent doing so hot, but they werent doin so hot when I put them in here. Ive been watching them very closely and I cant see any on the frags. Ive already pulled them and dipped them once and found nothing on close inspection. This is good info, thank you.Yeah, not a Montipora-eating Nudibranch in this case (the cerata are the wrong shape), but it's definitely a cnidarian-eater.
Watch for any on the corals in either tank (particularly any corals having issues), but it may also be one of the species that feeds on hydroids, anemones, etc.
