@JoshH I saw on one of the Facebook pages someone had a one-piece Euro-brace made by another Canadian manufacturer - EIGHT years ago. There was a picture and the tank looked really nice. Who else in Canada makes custom tanks?

When I was on Reef Aquarium Guide maybe 10 years ago, there was a guy that had a local glass shop make one for his rimmed tank that he was modifying. I think he said it took three or four tries because it kept breaking. I bet it was never tempered either. That was the first one I ever saw. I am glad the Miracle Tank will have one.

Only two that I am aware of, Miracles and Concept, however I believe there are one or two more builders in the Toronto area that have been around for quite some time.

The one piece is tricky and I can only imagine how much trickier they would be in a regular shop. At Miracles they are cut out on a Water Jet table then sent out of house for tempering. I'm almost certain when mine was made the first one broke during tempering. Derek mentioned to me that over the last year or two the volume of one piece euros hes had ordered have gone up exponentially. He had to purchase a second water jet to keep up as they take an incredibly long time to cut out, I think mine was in the neighborhood of 10 hours orso.

This is going to be a bit of a downer. Please at the end try to find something happy.

My grandfather is fighting a uti that has made him very sick and weak. They went to insert a feeding tube because he was unable to swallow. I just learned that they couldn't insert a feeding tube. My dad and his siblings have decided to bring him home and put him In hospice.
We now start that journey.

Hes 90 about ready to turn 91. In 11 he had a massive ha, stroke and a major car accident at the same time. Passed out behind the wheel and rolled into traffic. His quality of life hasn't been the same since.

He's a God fearing man that took great care of his kids and grandkids. He's slow to talk and a very insightful with loads of wisdom.
His humor was different. He is quick to say it hurt doesn't. It will feel better after it stops hurting
Or you'll know where it is when you find it and it will be the last place you look.

I knew this day was coming, I hoped it would be later rather than sooner.
Never think the need to share something so close to your heart will ever be considered a “downer”. We are a unique crowd. I think everyone will agree that It’s not just about the tanks anymore.
Your grandfather sounds just like my husbands grandfather. He was in two serious accidents and still kept a good attitude because “Jesus loves me”. We’d take him to church in a wheelchair. He knew every word to every hymn and with his hands held hi samg every word. He defied the odds, and we were blessed with this wonderful man for 5 more years. My husband was with him the night he passed. They were talking ( more like my husband was talking) and he suddenly smiled and said, “I’ve got to go. I see Him, Jesus is waiting for me”. He closed his eyes and with a smile on his face went to meet his Savior.
From my family to yours, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I hope your grandfather is able to ”defy the odds”. If not, I hope you can find comfort knowing he is in a better place
