I could do that. The last blenny and puffer I had did fine in the meds, so I was probably going to medicate the whole time. If I do that. I'd probably move the water to the 30. Less to dose if there's a need. That's a tough one. If you QT them together and one gets sick, they're all getting treatment so there's that, but if the puffer and Blenny are more sensitive to medications and the other two are more prone to disease, maybe set up 10s for the puffer and Blenny and the Tang and Foxface in the 40?
So glad this is top of the new page!
I will have more rock than I need. And maybe 3 that need to go in the display now due to coral being encrusted on them. I have no fear of there being enough area for bacteria between the rock, sand, and ceramic media.Mediocreef or not, you're going to be looking at it every day. Build a scape that is aesthetically pleasing to you.
There are exactly 2 pieces of rock in any of my tanks that are glued, and that is torch Island, to the base rock. You don't have to break things up and glue them to make a good scape.
It Reads like you may have more rock than you need (good problem to have). If so, pick and choose what works and looks best to you.
Hide the dry rock in the back and base if possible.
A are you planning to cure your TB rock and try to get the hitchhikers out? If so, you may be a few weeks away from using that rock.
I hope your TB rock didn't freeze.. that would be terrible.I will have more rock than I need. And maybe 3 that need to go in the display now due to coral being encrusted on them. I have no fear of there being enough area for bacteria between the rock, sand, and ceramic media.
Something not bad will happen. I think I just need to watch less brs and just make something. I'll change it anyway down the road cuz I gotta tinker with something or I lose my mind.
I wasn't planning on purging the rock, but it's cold and I might should deal with the die off outside the tank. I heard Steve mention how helpful some less than reef safe critters are great for sumps, gorilla crabs being what come to mind. Tbh though, I know something from them is showing up. But I haven't a clue what it is.
I think they were holding delivery for a bit. If it ships after tomorrow, it should be fine on this end. I'm growing more excited to see what comes in on the rock. There will probably be a hitchhiker ID post when they arrive. @OldRed1 has a fun one on his build thread.I hope your TB rock didn't freeze.. that would be terrible.
There are all kinds of hitchhikers. I pulled a Lot of crazy stuff out of mine and still didn't get them all. I've got a few pistol shrimp that made it through, a few mithrax crabs but that's about it.
Watching less BRS is probably a good move. I don't plan for the first scape iteration to be the final one. I build it expecting to want to change things later on after getting a feel for how it looks and operates. Make something you like, and be proud of it!
Thank you. I'm pretty darn happy with my scape. The More eyes and hands the betterI think they were holding delivery for a bit. If it ships after tomorrow, it should be fine on this end. I am also set up for success better than I was when I started the first tank, if on nothing but knowledge.
I will likely recruit the wife to help scape. I liked what you and fishy did with yours, four (in my case 6) eyes are better than 2 (four).
I’m gonna need you to fly out to Indiana and redo mineThank you. I'm pretty darn happy with my scape. The More eyes and hands the better
Before a single rock was touched, I made a sketch from three angles of what I was hoping to achieve.
What does the actual footprint look like on the sand from the top?
What does the front view look like, and what does the end view look like?
From there, I drew those on the glass with a paint marker and slowly built the structure, with the available rock, to make it happen.
While assembling, step back often and take a look. You don't want to get 16 rocks in, to realize you are moving in a direction you don't want.
Scaping should be Fun!
so tunes and brews and we should be good then.Thank you. I'm pretty darn happy with my scape. The More eyes and hands the better

You've got the man himself down the road.I’m gonna need you to fly out to Indiana and redo mine
Wung?Wung my scape @Mschmidt .
Turned out pretty solid. One day down the road may try something else with it .
I have an idea to just use rubble and pile it up in mounds glued . Baseball size max.
Sand for that scape. Kinda waiting on rock to mature right now. Not sure about fish hiding for that scape either. Have some thinking to do before 4-5 more years with this one.
Years . Make the reef scape cool
Her OCD won't allow me to destroy and rebuild her rocks... but I would definitely destroy her rocks... love rescaping things...
