Ok. I thought you had one set up. Still beats though.
Just the Hedgehog cage. Had one with the Bearded Dragon but he went away when I started my SW tanks.

You could probably just hang the front door open for a bit if you want more lizards in the house.
My buddy asked me to start catching him some geckos when the weather warms back up again. We have those Western Fattail Geckos local in our water meter boxes frequently. They're basically miniature Leopard Geckos with less cool coloration.

A quandary: how much scaping do I want to do? If this is the mediocreef then there should be some, but it should not clearly be "good" right? I have no doubt that I will be average at what I try, but do I want to spend a day smashing rocks to glue them back together? probably not, but at the same time, I want to make something that makes the fish and coral happy and that I want to look at as long as I have the tank.

I also need help deciding where things will go. I have roughly 80 pounds of rock in the two tanks running now, another 100ish from the previous owner, and I just learned that something is coming from Tampa Bay saltwater from my family's secret Santa. I also have 40 pounds of dry aragonite, 30 odd pounds the same in the running tanks, and 10 pounds of "seeded" black sand. I know the black and white mix can look good but is that what I want to do? Or do I throw that in the sump and leave the white for the display?

Merry (late) Christmas!

and I just learned that something is coming from Tampa Bay saltwater from my family's secret Santa

NICE! Do you get to know what, or is it a surprise upon delivery/pick up??

I'd probably lean into one color only for the sand in the display, but that's just me and my OCD. :) I don't have patience for smashing and gluing rocks. I tend to build mine in stacks, and I'll use putty if really needed to make something stay the way I want it. I'd guess you want at least one cool arch-type feature and a few caves? Maybe an island or two of rocks if you want to play with different coral types there?

Not late yet. Christmas Day lasts till next Sunday. Then it switches to Christmas season. Gotta make good things last.

Not sure what I'm getting. Maybe a gift card, maybe some products. I should get a delivery date though so I can have the tank ready and make sure I'm in town.

All white sand won't stay white long, I'm too lazy for that. I know scaping would in the end frustrate me, so I may break some of the bigger ones and reglue them. Also, they are the fake painted purple stones so white inside. The other stuff is cured dry rock. Whatever happens, it'll be somewhat franken-reef.

Rocks are thawing; they were outside and froze. When they do thaw I will likely glue some together and make some kind of scape. I need to figure out some cord control and the light that is in the stand doesn't seem to have a switch, which is strange and inconvenient. Also, I fear I did not set myself up for success in cord control, even with the preparations I made. But we all make choices, so here we are.

Here's a question though, I want a tang, probably bristletooth or brown, foxface, canary blenny, and likely another puffer. should I qt them in a 40, 30, or 10s. and together or separately? I'm thinking the 40 cuz it's got water in it now.

That's a tough one. If you QT them together and one gets sick, they're all getting treatment so there's that, but if the puffer and Blenny are more sensitive to medications and the other two are more prone to disease, maybe set up 10s for the puffer and Blenny and the Tang and Foxface in the 40?
