It was on sale, so believe it or not, it was actually like $1.00 cheaper per panel over birch. Which, for note, I'll be using for the door.

Hahaha. Yeah, I won't use pine for finished pieces. It is too soft and I don't trust it. So, paint for the maple it is. Also, this piece will eventually support the weight of a jellyfish habitat on top of it, so it needs to be sturdy.
