Don't you peak in there..
Sounds like that beer is well-earned.got a lot done on the sump upgrade and removal of stuff that failed...Got two skimmers now in the sump. the 300 int varios is wet skimming and the 200 int is dry skimming and will use it also for the ozone...Got a siporax tower built and running water through it. In just 6 hours tank water is way clearer then it ever was...Going to be doing research into vodka dosing... Installed two small reactors, a carbon and a seachem phosguard made from two old small DI reactors from my RODI unit. They doing 30 gallons a hour with 1/4 inch lines so they will turn the tank in 10 hours. I got two normal size reactors for the two different types of DI resin, cation and anion which I will install tomorrow. Having a stella now...

Well played
I use vinegar. Dosing 30 ml daily in about 100 gallons of water. Doesn't seem to be doing much.any one here have any experience with vodka or carbon dosing? I have also found out that vinegar also works but is not as strong as vodka. Also found out that there are products that do carbon dosing like Red Sea etc. Looking forward to some replies.
I dosed vodka back in the day, and it worked really well to drop nitrates. I did that in parallel to a Korallin sulfur denitrator. This was back in the ULNS days. Now, I dose bactobalance, which is like Carbon dosing+. Once you get your nutrients to where you want them, Bactobalance does a pretty good job at keeping them there by simultaneously dosing carbon, bacteria and nutrients.any one here have any experience with vodka or carbon dosing? Yeah, we used to do VSV years ago. A mix of all three. "Vodka-Sugar-Vinegar".Sugar can be "troublesome" from everything I've read. Vinegar requires more and is acidic so it temporarily lowers pH potentially. Vodka is much more potent and is easily over-dosed.
Listen here, Chum: I never claimed to be a smart man. She's not dosing moonshine, she's following the Moonshiners Method for dosing.
Hey, I wasn't laughing at you, I was... No, I was totally laughing at you.Listen here, Chum: I never claimed to be a smart man.
