My springer is probably like “oh yeah I want more friends to beat up”

yep kicked my springer to the curb,,,,went after the two new purple firefish and Mrs 1 ocean said oh no your not killing my two purple guys...and so the little Bee outch springer went to another home...

Get a Tomini Tang and a Starry Blenny. Then get a Twin Spot Goby.

I love my Springeris. Model citizens unlike my stupid Chromis.

I don't know about Hawks.

Your tank might be ok for a Melanurus. You could also maybe do a Leucoxanthus or Chrysus for yellow instead of the Melanurus.

How deep is your sand?

Let's take a look at the layout and then we can get to the plumbing. Remember how I mentioned my OCD? So... If the gear didn't fit my color scheme of blue and white, I modified it using Krylon designed for plastic. I also added some mesh baskets, shop towel dispenser, assorted hooks, and a nitrile glove dispenser / box holder to the inside of the doors. You guessed it- also modded. Here are some pics of the stuff being painted, the gear, and the layout. Note the DIY "block and clips" I crafted for mounting the UV sterilizer. Since I went with the larger sump, it's original, planned location would no longer work and I had to shift things around a bit. I wanted it raised off of the floor of the stand for ease of changing bulbs. You'll see it's placement in one of the pics.

Wow @Fish Styx, I’m just starting to read your build thread and I can’t get past all the DIY painting as it looks like a high-end European tank company did it. I’m so embarrassed with my one attempt to make my old tank stand into a storage cabinet by painting it to match my Red Sea tank. And I use the term, painted, loosely. I’m going to take my time with a morning cup of coffee and continue to read your build. Very inspiring. And I now understand the title of your build thread!
