This guy?

He’s a Radiant - the females are more red in appearance but males become stunning with a much purpler colouration.
Yes that guy. Thank you. I showed it to my daughter and her response was “yes definitely get that one”.

It’s one of my must have fish!

Oh and news… fingers crossed on Wednesday my holy grail wrasse lands! Yes, another wrasse for my overall collection.

Yesterday I went all out and got my now most expensive non-torch coral for this tank. I have 0 regrets! It’s almost like it’s grafted. And an FTS for size comparison!

He's back. Tried to get a picture of the bump on his nose
Looks like mouth damage to me as it seems like you can see his top teeth.

This stunner has gone to his new home! He’s now part of a potential breeding project.

However, we did discover he’s suffering worms and flukes so I now have prazi and will be dosing this tank 3 times over the next 15 days. Those things are going down before they take out any of my fish.

And the plan of action after we beat flukes is, no fish enters this system without a freshwater dip. Hopefully that will reduce risk of ich further as well.
If worst comes to it, I can QT all new fish at the LFS in a separate system.

He didn't come home with me today too many questions about that bump. Make some good progress on my project tank though
I find with Exquisites they have that white spot on top of their nose until they fully mature. Mine had the same spot for months until he put on some size, and doing some research I've found that is oddly common. I thought mine had something wrong with it, and then it shrunk as he colored up, totally gone now.

Been a short while since an update was given, well.

Monday was the first Prazi dose. I removed all the coral to be certain I didn’t lose them to prazi. Instead it backfired - my hammer collection had already been dwindling slowly. Now, we had an abnormally hot couple days this week and my temperature didn’t stay below 27°C (80.6°F) in the coral tub. If you don’t know already, I run my tanks lower - around 24°C (75.2°F). This temperature increase didn’t help the coral at all and stressed them out more - I have no longer got any hammers to go back into this tank as BJD took over. I also lost 2 torches to BJD and so I gave up and threw the coral back in on Tuesday.
Now, in this process I also lost my blue Sinularia colony and only have about an 8th of that colony remaining.

This brings us to the fish in that dose. I almost lost my Twisted Tamarin (my Kaleidos and second Twistii vanished just after a rock fall a couple weeks ago). This was totally my fault as I forgot Prazi removed Oxygen. So I caught her like this - I luckily had an airpump anyway for the coral tubs.

So, I put her into a bucket with an airstone and well, here she was on Tuesday (after a whole night with her own supply of oxygen).

Now, I did a worm/internals treatment as well but the Kuiter’s (who I specifically did it for) was in the sand by the time I got it in. I unfortunately lost her last night after seeming fine however she was just slowly declining and her stomach got skinnier and skinnier.

So, then we did the second dose and I learnt a lot from the first dose. Prior to adding Prazi I removed the skimmer cup and allowed the oxygen to just get thrown straight down into the water.

And also added the airstone into the main display.

I also moved all the remaining nice coral into my nano to reduce risk of BJD on them. This included a Goni, 3 Torches and the big Bubble Coral.

I did do this dose slightly later so I will be doing a 3rd to make sure my sand sleepers are awake for that dose. However the Twistii is out and not shaking or twitching and none of the rock dwellers are either so I’m hoping that dose worked even though they were in the sand.

And yesterday ontop of a second Kaleidos (going into my nano for a good few months to settle). I picked out a couple stunning Hammers! A proper rainbow walling and the nice slightly splattered Toxic Green wall that was there for 3-4 weeks now.

Oh, and today I’ve got a 3rd new wrasse to collect! This is a weird one that I’ve only seen 2-3 times now in the last few years. A Hologymnosus doliatus. I do have a plan for when it gets big (although theoretically I can hold it in my 5’ tank as I’d expect it to only get 14-16” long it’s not ideal). I’ll probably end up going for a bigger tank eventually.

Prazipro is reef safe.
Sorry you went thru all that.
I QT every fish before it hits the display now that I have quite the investment in the display. My next coral I think will be QT'd also. For the same reasons.

Yeah, I know it’s reef safe but I have spent a lot on coral as well as fish to the extent it’s sickly seeing how much I’ve lost - well over a grand of Hammers down the drain. But I was being cautious of Prazi with my coral and well, it’s backfired.

Also, took a look at the softie tub today and those Chilli are loving life! They seem to be extending daily in that tub - guess I need to dump more skimmate into my system for them :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

Well, I was just curious to see what was living under my Yuma rock and well, I didn’t expect to see my original chilli coral still alive! That thing is at least 10 years with me now, I have no idea how but it’s lived that long.
I absolutely love it!

Torches went into a Cipro, Amoxicilin and Iodine bath yesterday, today they’re looking huge! This is after I ticked them off because one fell off the rock.
IMG_2368.jpeg

The bubble is also looking good today after the bath. And I found one last hammer that survived the BJD!

We’re no longer a pile of rocks!!
IMG_2393.jpeg

All coral that wasn’t in my nano has re-entered the tank for good now. 2 more doses to do and then we should be clear of fluke!
And Sunday ill be bringing back all my new coral for this tank along with introducing the coral from my nano again.
