Wait, what? You edited!. Shes got a hortulanus. Not melanuras.
Shoot. I misread. Though I still think it’s probably the safest bet. Melanarus and hortulanus definitely do not get along but I’ve never seen aggression between the chrysus like wrasse and the grumpier flatter Halichoeres.

The Hippopus went into the tank after an hour of no fish bothering with it, instead of fish being an issue I had hermits climbing all over it and sitting right on the opening going for it.
So, today it’s recovering in the nano as I unfortunately lost my big blue maxima.

Your tank is gorgeous. I didn’t know much about wrasses as I’ve been looking at others tanks for inspiration as I set mine up and came across yours. Your fish are stunning. I’m going to have to consider putting some on my stocking list as I’m hoping to get my tank setup here. I’d say soon but reality is hopefully have it fish ready for over the winter. What fish in your last post has the purple body with yellow head. My daughter loves purple and wants a purple fish to go in the tank.

Careful kids he's a wrasse pusher (I dearly love seeing all the species that I'll never have the guts to put in my tank). Your tank is gorgeous and I'm taking copious notes for my project build

He’s a Radiant - the females are more red in appearance but males become stunning with a much purpler colouration.

Hope he’s ok. My wife said she and the kids were there Friday evening and he had a big chunk out of his nose. She said it almost looked like a bite
It could’ve been mouth damage from crashing into a rock for some reason.

That wouldn’t surprise me. They put a pretty good amount of rock in the tank at this petco. Too bad they don’t take it out or move it when they try to get a fish out.

Thankyou so much! I have some… weird species to say the least. I know so many people wouldnt have even dared to throw Pencils into a tank a couple years ago but for some reason my gut decided it was an amazing idea :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

My favourites so far have to be these two and my pencil gang. The Kuiter’s only just doesn’t make the top 5.

And my updated stock list, 15 wrasses altogether with 26 fish!

I still have the dream of a Laboute’s pair - The two blacked out. But getting hold of a male alone is proving difficult. I obviously had one but it was given a spinal injury by my Cleaner Wrasse.

They’re gorgeous. It’s a good thing I’m 8ish months from water in the new tank. I would probably be out wrasse hunting otherwise. I’m thinking that I’ll put in my 3 centerpiece fish first since they are going to be biota captive bred and will be pretty tiny on arrival
