Unless something else comes around before then and then maybe another 1 or 2...
Okay… fine, I did something. BUT! He was sat in my LFS for months now and he is just too cute.
So we now have a Bicolour Foxface… Siganus uspi.

I got more coral though! So here’s what I got for this tank this bank holiday;
2x Macropharyngodon meleagris females
1x Siganus uspi (2”)
2x Stylophora
2x Duncans
1x Holly Wood Stunner Chalice
1x Purple Scrolling Turbanaria
1x Green Monti

Oh! And I got a bonus fire shrimp to make up for the Foxface scenario.

Here’s a somewhat better photo of the Foxfaces. Look how happy the Magnificent is now! He’s not camera shy or skittish at all and the Fiji follows him round.

Yes, this is me trying to justify the reason for this fish haha.

I’ve not updated in… a while. But everything’s going well! The second female meleagris has been in the sand for around a week now (she was out for the first week) but I expected that of her as she was showing possible signs of transition. The foxfaces are all happy too and getting along with everyone. The flame back angel chased him until he put up his spines. Then the angel backed off. Also, the Diamond Tail Flasher is growing rapidly. He’s now over 1 inch but the female rubricaudalis is still larger.

So, here’s some photos!

The only thing that bothers my Foxface is the stupid Starry Blenny.

My Foxy occasionally flares at the tang but it’s mostly just a reminder to stay in it’s own lane

Nobody seems to bother them anymore but for the first day the flame back angel was very territorial.

Picked up this guy yesterday, isn’t he gorgeous.
I’ve not seen them in years - Valenciennea wardii.
I also got 2 new hammers which I’ll get photos of later along with the wrasses (stocking up for Wrasse Wednesday ;))

I also have a plan to extend my clam addiction into this tank now… I just need to find the perfect ones. Maybe I’ll go all out and try find a Hippopus hippopus.
There was an event this weekend that I missed but may get down to the LFS in the week to see what clams remain (There were tons… Gold, Blue, Purple, Green even a gorgeous pastel coloured one).

And of course, I had to grab this gorgeous fella when I saw him. Pseudojuloides severnsi.

It’ll be interesting to see how these guys colour up as well as my Pseudojuloides edwardi.

im annoyed that this is the best video I’ve gotten of my Rubri in display… just look at the orange wrasses and you’ll see him at some point with his fins up and going for it.

2 of the pencils are up already the Sev and the Kaleidos!

Absolutely if you want a pencil wrasse don’t just get 1, these guys display incredibly when mixed. I’ve never seen nicer colours from wrasses and I’d even say that these displays are better than most of the Flashers and Fairies!

Looks like it’s coming along nicely. Lots of room for the fishies.
Yep! I’m not going to go hectic with fish this time - I’m at 23 but they’re all smaller species with the biggest getting 7-8 inches and that’s the Foxfaces. The rest I’ve aimed to get 5-6 inches and not much bigger.

love the severensi
He’s such a character. He also came from another tank so I have my full confidence in him being a good fish long term.

I feel like this thread needs an opening paragraph that easily summarises this chaotic journey with wrasses…
How about “musings of a wrassoholic”
