My elegance has been strange, not coming out all the way. Comes out about half way. It went through swelling up and then going back down. The coral was just barely showing the green flesh, to be on the safe side I did a 3 min. FWD. The coral has come out a bit more. I rearranged the reef so that it resides out of direct light, has mild current. Coral is not eating, but is coming out about the same each day. Hoping that it will get better. I cannot find the tentacles. The coral never seemed to shed the tentacles. Does the coral pull them into the flesh?
Do elegance need more Mg in the water? My water numbers are like the standard except the Ca runs at 500. The tank gets fed live baby brine, copepods, frozen variety of foods. I spot fed my corals a mix of popular foods. I have cut this down to 2x a week. My mystery corals have grown a lot. All corals are open, except the elegance.

These corals go through this stage especially when new. It isn't nothing to worry about and best to leave. They do not like to be shaded either. If there is detritus build up around it then they can also do this. Tentacles will grow back over time. Swelling, shriveling up, tentacle loss is all if it's quirk to adjusting.

The ledge is because a lot information says that they do not like a lot of light. Problem other corals do need light.
Thanks for letting me know it is an adjustment. I started thinking that it was an adjustment.
My water numbers were always good. Our only problem was that the Ca runs high. I am not sure why because I do not dose.

If you look up some of my posts about elegance and even my current build thread, you can see how mine did and other I have owned did the same thing. I have mine currently in direct light up higher. No issues. But also not growing sps either.
