Economy aside, which do you prefer? That would be overall including ease of use, consistency, etc.
Each has its positives and negatives. We do prefer two part dosing at the moment (outside of the volume needed… we constantly need to remove water to prevent salinity creep) however when calcium reactors are dialed and the system consumption is balanced, ca reactors do a great job.

I currently do both, one each on on my two systems, but I love gadgets, so calcium reactors tend to be my favorites. It's just such a cool concept! Plus, to your point, once they're dialed in, you rarely have to tinker with them. Just make sure you have a spare CO2 tank waiting.

What salt and how regular of water changes?
No water changes, Reef Crystals. I'm a bad boy and still use tap water for top offs. High calcium and high alkalinity. Rarely have to dose alk, magnesium is the only thing that gets depleted noticably besides phosphates.
