Hey guys Thanks for all the support and friendly hellos. I’m not sure if this is the right place to post an update but if I’m wrong I’m sorry and hopefully someone can help me know where The best place to post updates Are. I completed the top and bottom frames for my tank but am concerned about a split that showed up in a piece of wood. I’ll post pics but should I worry about it? If so can I fix it or relocate it to a place that won’t bear much...

I completed the top and bottom frames for my tank but am concerned about a split that showed up in a piece of wood. I’ll post pics but should I worry about it? If so can I fix it or relocate it to a place that won’t bear much weight? I’m feeling like I should replace it all together but since I have to rely on Home Depot to cut my Wood (which must be bought at time of cutting ) I’m just checking for any other solutions. Thanks

Since I can't see and and even if did, I'm not going to give advice because WHAT IF it worked for a while (even years) and then failed... wouldn't want you to think ... that darn Fish Think Pink said it is okay...

When dealing with structure, overbuild. A gallon of water is roughly 8lbs. Rocks, everything has weight. If weight isn't evenly distributed, something will crack, and what IF its your glass...

If you have a question on your wood's structural integrity, then you must not be comfortable. If you aren't comfortable, weigh your options and decide which is worse, failure in that point or replacement... you'll best be able to answer that question. To me, a bit of wood is a small cost compared to tank dropping to floor (IF that would even happen-honestly not likely... sags that lead to frame and glass failure more likely)

Most in 'meet and greet' section read only first post, then go off to greet someone else. Instead, future questions likely should go over into Forum various sections so they get viewed. This wood split question sounds like DIY section. If you don't like my above answer, feel free to get more! One thing I've learned in this hobby - there are many ways to achieve most goals - if you don't like one answer or you try something and it doesn't work for you - there is another way and another person suggestion to try.

Wishing you much luck and success!!!

Good luck to you!!
