Zoa's have algae in them too but I straight up dip in 50/50 tank and 3% and 75/25 for other corals when I feel they need it.
Zoas aren’t made of mostly water. Peroxide is doing harm to both. Zoas can handle more. I dip mine in straight 3% sometimes too. I wouldn’t do that to a BTA. For that matter if you pour peroxide on yourself your killing your own cells, fortunately you have a ton of them.

What are your peroxide dosing though OP?

I can't imagine he's dosing more than 2-3 ML in a 10G. (you can definitely dose more, but I always keep it on a much lower spectrum)

If he is then I can understand why it's causing stress.
yea i was dosing five and now i’m not dosing it anymore the only time i’ve used it today was when i added new snails because they were covered in algae from my lfs

Yes that’s about 5x what I would feel comfortable dosing.

update this is going way faster than what it normally used to do when dosing hydrogen peroxide it was normally puffed up at 3 and now it’s already starting to puff up tonight at 10:47 and it’s already almost the size of my clown

yes 5ML a day of hydrogen peroxide makes sense.

Anemones inflate with the water column around them. If the 5ML there'd probably be H202 hanging around for long periods of time, irritating him when he inflated as it would be inside him now. (if that makes sense)

So I can see with the high dosage you were doing exactly why they would be doing that.

GL with this. Glad you figured it out.

Peroxide isn’t harming your anemone what so ever. Peroxide dissipates in water almost instantly.

The problem is you are probably over feeding it or have poor water quality.

The anemones over on the left would get 2 mls per gallon of peroxide daily when I’d treat that tank and they wouldn’t even notice.

He's dosing 5 ML in a 10G.

You were dosing 2ML's in what looks like easily over 100.

I think there';s a big diff.

wait you dose peroxide directly into the tank? Never heard of that before

Yeah just google "Hydrogen Peroxide Dosing Saltwater" It's quite common.

1 or 2ML per gallon actually is not unheard of.

I've just never personally heard of anyone doing it :D it's normally a last ditch effort to fight algae.

i dose at night which means it takes longer for hydrogen peroxide to turn into water that’s why they are kept in brown bottles because then it would just turn into water in the bottle

here’s a little update on the amine i did a water change to day and stuff but what i don’t understand is why some parts of the anemone are shriveled up like that at some points in the day and today i didn’t feed him at all as well but he may have caught something out of the water column
